Get Ready for the TAA Members’ Show, Opening April 2


Start thinking about your entry into this year's TAA Members’ Fiber Art Show at the Beachwood branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library, located at Richmond Road and Shaker Boulevard. The show will open with a reception on Sunday, April 2 and extend through Friday, April 28.  Although this show does not have a theme, it’s an opportunity to showcase the wide variety of our membership’s creativity, skills and interests. Don’t miss this chance to share and display your latest work!

 
Up to three works can be submitted, beginning on Wednesday, February 1. Email up to three images to Diane Bird at dianekbird@gmail.com. Please include titles and dimensions for each work submitted. Due to venue restrictions, only 2D items can be accepted. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, March 1.

 

Related to the show, on Saturday, April 8, TAA will hold a fiber arts demonstration day for all ages. If you’d like to participate in the demonstrations or have other questions about the show, please contact Melissa Richmond at melissathequilter@yahoo.com

 

Quilts 2017 Show at Lake Metroparks Farmpark, February 17-March 29
"Enchanting Stars" by Megan Hollingshead, featured quilt artist


Hurry – the entry deadline for the Lake Metroparks Farmpark Quilts 2017 show is Tuesday, January 20, 2017! The entry fee is $12 and the limit is one quilt entry per person. Prizes will be given for Best of Show and People’s Choice winners. There’s nothing like the Quilts Show to brighten your winter days! In addition to seeing the happy colors and wonderful quilts, workshops, classes and lectures are offered. Nancy Prince of Orlando, Florida and Megan Hollingshead of Houston, Texas are this year’s featured expert quilters who will present workshops. “Bits and Pieces of Love and Life” Show Features Quilts by Nelly Vileikis


Art quilts by TAA member Nelly Vileikis will be on display in the show, “Bits and Pieces of Love and Life,” at the Gates Mills Library from January 3 through February 23. Nelly’s colorful, exuberant works surely will brighten your day! The show can be viewed during regular library hours. The library is located on Chagrin River Road in Gates Mills.

“Artful Threads” Show of Works by Melissa Richmond and Eugenia Vainberg


Interested in exploring quilting and handwork? For inspiration, be sure to see “Artful Threads,” featuring the works of TAA member Melissa Richmond (quilting) and Eugenia Vainberg (embroidery) at South Franklin Circle’s Community Center. The will be on display through March 15. South Franklin Circle is located at 16575 South Franklin Street, Chagrin Falls, 44023. Mary Ann Tipple’s Quilts Featured in “Likeness” Show at Heights Arts


TAA Member Mary Ann Tipple joins five other artists in the show, “Likeness,” which runs January 13 – February 26 at Heights Arts, 2175 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights. The show’s theme explores the aspects of portraiture and Mary Ann is the featured fiber artist. Mary Ann’s art quilts are whimsical depictions of colorful characters and even includes a self-portrait.
